Zoom 5751 X4 Modem Setup Guide
Welcome to this setup guide for the Zoom 5751 X4 Modem. This should help you go through connecting this up and getting online.

1. Unpack all the contents from the box. You should have received the following:
1 x Zoom 5751 X4 ADSL Modem / Router
1 x Ethernet Cable
1 x USB Cable
1 x User Guide
1 x Mini CD Driver Disc (please do not use this disc in a slot loading drive)
1 x Grey / Silver DSL Cable
1 x Microfilter (This plugs into your phone line). You may need more but these can been purchased from either us or from a computer store
Setting up via USB
1. Place the mini CD into the computers CD Drive it should be placed as below.

2. You should then see the following screen select english as your language :

3. You should then be given three options. select Install Assistant

4. Once you have selected the Install Assistant you will be asked to select the only option which is as show below.

5. You will then be presented by the install wizard for the Zoom X4 Install Wizard so simply click next.
6. You will then be asked if you wish to continue with the install and to click the install button.
7. The installer will start to copy files onto your computer and show a green progress bar wait for this to complete. You may get prompted .with a box like the one below if so click Install this driver software anyway.

8. You should then be asked to pluig in the USB cable from your modem into your PC.This would be the same as if you are plugging in e.g your printer.
9. Once this has been done you should be asked them click finish. Once you have done this the next stage is to configure your DSL Modem / Router with your Suffolk Online Login details to connect to your Broadband Service. If you follow steps 2 till 10 in the next section and this will help you configure the router.
Setting up via Ethernet
1. As in the above instruction under part 1.Plug in your equipment and inplace of using the USB cable use the ethernet cable and locate the ethernet socket on the back of the modem and pc. If you are unsure of where cables need to go then please refer t othe diagram in the user manual that came with the modem/router or contact the helpdesk.
2. Open up your Internet Browser, Most of the time it will be Internet Explorer or Firefox. In the address bar along the top type in the following http://192.168.1.1 like shown below:

3. You should get prompted and asked for a username or apssword. You need to enter the following as this is the default.
Username: admin
Password: zoomadsl

4. Once you have put in the username and password click on Ok
5. Once you have been logged in you should see the following screen:

6. You need to select the following options to get the connection going:
PVC: PCV 0
Protocol: PPPoA
Encapsulation:VC-Mux
VPI: 0
VCI: 38
Username: t*****@suffolkonline.net
Password: your suffolkonline password
7. At the bottom of the screen you will see the following screen.

8. Click on Save / Reboot. Once you have done this you will need to wait for around 2 minutes and then press F5 or close your brower and go to Step 2 which will take through logging back in to the router.
9. You can see if the connection is successful by click on Diagnostics down the left hand side in the gray menu bar and you should after a few seconds get a screen similer to the one below.

10. If you are using ethernet the the top ENET would be green and the USB would be read. Everything else should be as you see below. If it doesnt and you have a problem then contact us at the helpdesk.
