The Tour of Britain is the annual elite cycle race that is considered to be one of the cornerstones of the UK’s sporting calendar and the country’s biggest cycling event. This year Suffolk and Essex have secured stage 7, the penultimate stage before the climax of the Tour in London. Stage 7 will commence in Bury St Edmunds on Friday 17th September 2010 at 10.15 am and will pass through towns and villages Horringer, Chedburgh, Depden, Wickhambrook, Barnardiston, Kittle Wratting, Haverhill, Wixoe, Stoke by Clare, Clare, Cavendish, Foxearth, Long Melford, Lavenham, Brent Eleigh, Milden, Groton, Boxford, Newton, Chilton and Sudbury before entering Essex and finishing in Colchester. Come and watch the elite cyclists including many olympians as they take part in this exciting event.
